REVIEW || 'LOLITA' Everlasting Liquid Lipstick by Kat Von D
4:35:00 PMWorn with 'WHIRL' lipliner from MAC |
COLOUR: Like all lip colours, Lolita's hue varies on different skin tones. The colour I expected to be on my lips wasn't what it actually was - and I don't mean that in a bad way. Since my skin is a little more pale, somewhat milky and cool-toned, it came on a little more vibrant than I thought. A lot of other reviews have said it came out "too brown", but personally, I found it pulled a lot more reddish/pink tones than the brownish mauve nudish tone I wanted. However - that is just my take on the colour. It all comes down to preference!
I suggest you try it out before you purchase it!

TEXTURE: The lipstick comes on very smoothly and will appear glossy at first; give it a minute or less and bam..... it's magically matte. The most amazing matte. Of course, being a matte texture, smooth, non-chapped lips is a MUST. Dry lips make the lipstick look crumbly. Not a cute look, trust me.
APPLICATOR: The fuzzy tip is a little shorter than other applicators, but it does the job. It works just fine.
PRICE: $24 Canadian for one tube. This comes down to your judgement... Personally, I usually don't prefer to spend $24 on a lipstick, but if it looks nice... I'll take it. I'll take a handful.
SWATCH:
This swatch was HELL to wash off and after a couple tries, it's still on my arm - it's THAT durable. |
TRANSFER: There is veeeery little to no transfer! The only colour that transferred seemed to be the lip liner I used with it.
PROS: It's the most durable liquid lipstick I've ever owned. You can eat, drink, talk all day and it will go absolutely nowhere. It's such an amazing matte. The design on the little tube/bottle it comes in is so cute - if that makes it any more convincing, haha. Plus, her entire line is vegan - aka, animal friendly and better for your skin.
CONS: The colour might not be what you expect. It looks different on everyone. The texture isn't very forgiving with dry lips (aka, my lips majority of the time). ALSO, because it dries fast and is long lasting, if your hand slips and you accidentally put colour on a place it shouldn't be... it's a pain to take off.
