Cafe Gratitude || A WEEK OF CALIFORNIA
9:44:00 PM
After eating out of fast food joints for a few consecutive days straight, you'd realize that it gets super tiring and you can feel the effect on your body big time. Visiting Cafe Gratitude, a cute little organic vegan restaurant, felt the closest to home and sparked comfort in me. Choosing to eat healthy puts me at ease because I know that what I choose to eat will reward my body in the future. (This all stems from watching too many Ted Talks and nutrition documentaries before bed.)
The layout of the place was all around cool. The walls were filled with positive mantras and empowering, pro-self love, sayings. It was easily the best food we had all trip and kind of a shame we only chose to go on our last day. I ordered the 'GRATITUDE', which was basically a bowl of shredded kale, black beans, garlic tahini sauce (the best I've ever had), and a mix of brown rice + quinoa. I also had the 'ETERNAL', a housemade milkshake of cashew coconut ice cream + chai.
My aunt had the 'AWESOME' sandwich which was an eggplant parmasean panini with a side of mixed greens and balsamic vinaigrette. She was the only one that completely finished her food clean and even drank the rest of my milkshake. The little message underneath her food was a conversation kickstarter for us.
Even the take out bags were the most adorable.
Definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY check out Cafe Gratitude when you get the chance. The service is great and so are the vibezZzzZZZzz.
