FULLIPS LIP ENHANCER - does it actually work?! // current lip favourites

Besides well groomed eyebrows + eye colour, one of my favourite facial features are the lips. In today's weird culture, the trend is all about lips - lip plumpers, lip liners, the classic - lipstick, and even cosmetically enhancing procedures like lip injections/fillers/botox. But before you go under the knife, or inject your lips with some sort of silicon, here are a couple alternatives to save you the pain!

When I was in California, I went with my mom into a beauty supply megashop, called Namie's, to find a couple products she was looking for (she does hair + makeup!). While going about the aisles, I noticed the Fullips lip enhancers amongst the racks of beauty products. I had always seen them on youtube or beauty blogs... and out of curiosity, I just had to try it for myself. What it is, if you've never seen it before, is a little red rectangular (or circular) cup that you self-suction your lips into to enhance your pout. I was a little apprehensive about trying it because I was scared of the red ring around my lips that I thought it would leave. Little did I know - the edges are wide, smooth and rounded so that the red 'circle of death' around your lips doesn't happen.

I don't really know how to describe what it feels like besides a suction. It's like sucking a bottle cap, but less painful. I definitely felt some sort of pressure, but I made sure not to go to the point of bruising or bursting (LOL). You can see my reaction in the pictures below.

I'd hold it for no longer than 1 minute at a time. Start with 30 seconds - 1 minute and see how that goes... Keep going only up to what you feel comfortable doing! DO NOT GO UNTIL YOUR LIPS TURN PURPLE. I totally forgot to take a close up shot of what my lips looked like before, but you can see the change in shape from the first photo to the ones down below.

Personally, I do think that the FULLIPS LIP ENHANCER does work. And would I recommend it? Sure! It's an easy and simple way of getting fuller lips. However, I wouldn't recommend using it so frequently. Let's be completely honest with ourselves here.. What you're basically doing is rushing the blood to your lips via suction cup. That can't be too good for you with a lot of use.

CURRENT LIP FAVOURITES

(WHIRL LIP LINER/VELVET TEDDY LIPSTICK/SONIA KASHUK MULBERRY NUDE/DUWOP LIPVENOM)

I've shown these two off before - but I am in love with my Whirl lip liner + Velvet Teddy lipstick by MAC. They're both a berry kind of nude lip colour that blend together so well. If you've ever wondered what colour I'm wearing on my lips... it's probably a mix of these two.

My next favourite is DuWop's LIP VENOM. It's basically a gloss (that tastes like bubblegum) and a lip plumper in one. It comes in the cutest little pink vile! When you apply it, your lips start to get tingly, my aunt even said "itchy and hot" when I let her try it, due to the hot pepper ingredient added to it. My aunt didn't find that it plumped her lips... yet when I tried it on, she said that my lips looked huge - "like you got plastic surgery" huge, she said. It made my upper lip look absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't apply too much, as it gets quite sticky at first. It turns into a nice matte after having it on for a while with lip liner/lipstick underneath it.

The description on DuWop's website: "The result: fuller bee stung lips" does not lie.
