Five random things to always keep in mind.
11:46:00 PM1. // KEEP YOUR LIPS MOISTURIZED.
I know this is kind of a silly one, but I find it so important when the weather is changing. There are so many times I've applied lipstick and realized how terrible it looked because my lips were chapped and so dry. I always make sure I carry around a lip balm in my purse - my favourite is the mint EOS (as you guys have seen in previous posts!). Another thing I do is scrub my lips with my toothbrush after brushing! The dead skin comes off... but don't do it to a point where your lips are raw. Been there and done that. Drinking lots of water also keeps your skin hydrated!
2. // STAY AWAY FROM FALLING FOR BOYS THAT YOU KNOW AREN'T WORTH MAKING BREAKFAST FOR.
Alright. I think about this one often, mainly because I can't seem to fall for anyone anymore. I also can't seem to get out of bed in the morning. Getting out of bed to make breakfast for someone other than myself is something I don't do. I don't even eat breakfast, myself. But if he's worth waking up early and getting out of your cozy bed to make breakfast for.. you'll know you've found the one. I haven't.
3. // GO OUTSIDE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY + TAKE A COUPLE DEEP BREATHS OF FRESH AIR.
No therapy in the world could ever beat having a moment to yourself. Even though I absolutely love the comfort of my own home and consider myself a "homebody", I can only do it for a certain amount of days. After some time, I go insane. A step outside suffices for a bit. If the skies are clear and it isn't too chilly out, take a book and a coffee/tea with you. Take it all in and just breathe.
4. // READ MORE.
A little literature doesn't hurt. I haven't been doing so well with reading this year since I've been super busy with a lot of things, but it's something that always crosses my mind. I love a good analytical, brain twisting read. I also love good poetry. And no - I don't mean pull out your phone and read a fanfiction or some tabloid article. A real, old fashioned and good, novel... you know, the one with the paper inside and the print on it, bonded together to form a little thing called a paperback book? Whatever happened to that? I mean - I sleep beside a dictionary and read it. I'm a little biased.
5. // PEOPLE OUT THERE LOVE YOU. YOU ARE BETTER THAN ANY "INSTAGRAM YOU".
This one out of the five is the most important. It's so easy to see people based on their Instagram feeds, and what I mean by that is people get this weird perception of you based on what your photos look like. "Oh, she's got a good feed! She's too cool, man." False. Come on. Let's face it. We've probably all been there. You can filter yourself anyway you please, to seemingly make yourself "better", but know that people will love you regardless of what you look like or what you make yourself to be. People love you for you.
